More aprons?

The last blog entry told you where to buy the cutest vintage aprons. Along the same topic, check out A Feathered Nest. A very creative lady named Abby runs the Feathered Nest blog and she holds apron swaps! It's such a great idea! If you are feeling crafty or love to sew, check out the blog for Abby's next apron swap. You can sign up to make an apron and swap it with someone else's homemade beauty. If you're not into the swapping thing, at least check out A Feathered Nest for the fun, crafty things that Abby posts from time to time. Lots of great ideas!

Great gifts!

Etsy.com is a wonderland of handcrafted items. You have to wade through some "junk," but overall, Etsy is full of things that have been handmade with love. Here are two especially darling sites worth checking out. The first is the Mia Joie Boutique. Mia Joie makes the most precious baby items! Their organic cotton baby shoes are a mommy favorite (this theory has been tested on several new moms lately, and each has raved over their Mia Joie baby booties). The second site on Etsy worth checking out is Chic to Chic. Chic to Chic makes fabulous aprons in fun retro prints. Many of the aprons have matching tea towels that can be purchased. These aprons are great to stock up on and use for hostess gifts...because being a grateful guest is as important as being a gracious hostess!

Cute centerpiece idea!

These are some centerpiece ideas that we whipped up for a bride who has chosen the very chic colors of burnt orange and dusty blue. These are "messy prototypes" of what we envisioned for her summer wedding...but it's an easy idea that a hostess could use, too. We took some wooden boxes and wrapped them neatly in fun papers and then tied them off with a satin ribbon. Supermarket flowers filled these, because they were a last-minute purchase. However, you could plan better than we did and put some much prettier posies in your boxes. (We apologize for the poor photo quality...the pictures were taken with a phone this time. Not really ideal, but it'll have to do for today!)
